Many people asked me when was the best time to visit Tibet. Well, it’s a question without a certain answer. Because it depends on different needs of travelers, what they focus on, what they desire, makes every single month can be the best time of Tibet tours for them.
Normally, summer is considered the best season to visit Tibet. But some tourists may prefer autumn as the landscape of Tibet is more stunning and the weather is not so overcast; while some visitors would love to explore the Tibet culture tour in winter when there are some Tibetan pilgrimages on a large scale. So, if you have a tight budget, you are suggested to visit Tibet in winter, which is the off-season with the cheapest cost. And please don’t worry about the quality of the tour, Tibet has its own beauty in winter, plus, you can integrate with the local religious life to experience the authentic Tibetan lifestyle. Just one more tip, trek tour is not suitable for winter. As most mountains are impassable and it’s extremely cold which is not available for trekking.

There are three main festivals in Tibet, the Tibetan New Year, Saga Dawa Festival and Shoton Festival. All of those are celebrated by extensive ceremonies.
